Smartie loads twice on startup

Post by Dummy »

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have set up LCD Smartie and all is running ok until i select to autostart when windows does. I restart my machine and when it turns back on there is two instances of smartie running causing it to have a lot of text on the screen

Can anyone solve my problem

Open the windows start menu. Go to "all programs", then "startup". If there are two listings of LCD Smartie, delete one of them.

I suppose that you?re using parallel connection for your LCD...
this is the only case that smartie loads a secong instance otherwise you ?ll get an error for the occupied port!

In any case have in mind that the startup option tab on the third tab when enabled it will add a shortcut under "all users" on startup folder of your windows system.

If you have another shortcut placed under a specific user name you will get this two instance error.

Hi

Yeah i am using a parallel connnection, its too a silverstone VFD. I have selected autostart with windows and checked both the all users startup folder and my specific folder and Smartie only appears in one, yet it still loads twice. I have since got speedFan also and this does it too. I have lots of programs which are set to start automatically and all work fine but don't appear in my startup folder????

Any more ideas guys.

Thankyou for your help

Go to

> Start
> Run
> Write down msconfig
> Hit Enter
> System configuration utility will open
> Go to last tab called "Startup"
> There are a lot of entries there....
> Check for a double entry of the program that starts twice!

Good luck
