speedfan.DLL - how to get readings from speedfan?

Hello everybody! I'm writing (actually starting to learn how to write) software/hardware thing to use ARM+LCD to use as monitor. It's not LCD smartie related project (which i use and enjoy a lot). It's more like lcd hype but for ARM controled LCD, well i met the problems when i started to learn about SMBus. There lot of variations of chips and no 'universal' tool to read data from sensors. But i just looked at speedfan.dll and ask myself 'but the guys someway read the data from speedfan!'. So i decided to write this topic, may be somebody will help. Is there any API or some way to know how the speedfan.dll guys do that? That would be great help for my uncomercial project.
