Hello. I am using LCD Smartie with the lisvfd DLL. The VL System L.I.S. MCE display works fine. However, after resuming from standby, I get the following error: "Failed to open device: DLL initialize error: LISVFD.DLL Exception: The handle is invalid"
If I kill the LCD Smartie program and then execute it again, it works fine. So... I presume that this is because the hardware is not ready immediately when Windows resumes from standby... and a delay is required before the software attempts to open the COM port?
Is there a configuration setting to make LCD Smartie wait a few seconds (after resuming from standby) before attempting to open the COM port?
Is there some other problem that causes this error after resuming from standby?

Re: "Failed to open device" error after resume from standby
I don't have a LIS display, but your error might be related to a Smartie bug that affects serial port connected displays. This has been fixed in the latest versions. There's a new beta at http://lcdsmartie.sourceforge.net/smartied.htm
There have been a couple of threads about USB (virtual COM port) displays in the past... like http://forums.lcdsmartie.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1950 and http://forums.lcdsmartie.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3053

Re: "Failed to open device" error after resume from standby
Thanks, I found some of those other posts also. I just tried the beta version. The beta version does not display an error when I put the computer in standby and then wake the computer, so it appears to be working correctly. However, I can't confirm that the display is actually working with the beta version, because I am logged into the computer remotely right now.
I will check it when I get home this evening.
If this works, I will move the display from my desktop PC to my HTPC. The next step is to get mce_dll to display Media Center information.
