Actually, I've just been working on this.

Currently using an Arduino, you can do it. Wire the screen up as per the GLCD v3 library instructions, upload the code I provided, and set lcdsmartie up as instructed.
Currently, it's only the top half of the screen, changing the font may enable use of the full screen, but I'm working on something else ATM.
