Post by jlw »

A driver for Noritake GU140x16G-7000 for serial communication port.

This driver supports:
  • 20x2 character display (140x16 dot matrix)
    Brightness control
    Supports 12ms update rate
    Supported baud rates: 9600,38400,19200,115200
    Selectable hardware comm ports
Start up Parameters:
COMx,baud,8,N,1
  • COMx: selects which communication port the VFD module is connected.
    baud: Baud rate
8: bits per byte (fixed at 8 bits)
N: parity (fixed at no parity)
1: Stop bits (fixed at 1 bit)
If you do not have a serial communication port, you can use a USB-to-RS-232C converter to connect the VFD module.

If you do not have a supported module, you can find information and purchasing options http://noritake-vfd.com/evaluationkitgu ... -7000.aspx.

If you experience any other problems or have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at http://v.vfd-itron.com/CU. The more information we have on the problem, the better we are able to help, so please give the version of LCD Smartie, the modification date of the display plugin (from the Properties dialog in Explorer), version of Windows (including 32- or 64-bit, if you can), and the model of VFD you are using.
