i got myself following VFD module. will this work with lcd smartie? the pinouts seem similar to HD44xxx controllers.

Looks good, should work with the HD44780 wiring.

Can confirm that it works,
Have the same screen in my Dvine media centre case and it works like a charm.
Its wired withe above mentiont scematic. (HD44780 wiring)
I also have the correct pdf for connecting it from samsung.

my question is ... is this one also convertible to usb ?
