Contrast/Brightness Action

I was just wondering if it was possible to control the contrast and backlight/vfd brightness of the display using an action... The only thing I have been able to find is the Backlight On/Off action.

I am trying out using an MX6 display, which behaves a little like a VFD display. It uses the backlight brightness to control the brightness of the characters, and ignores contrast altogether. What I would like to be able to do is have a permanent dim display screen, then set the brightness to high for alert or notification screens.

If this is not possible (and I suspect it isn't), is it possible to write Action plugins at all? I couldn't find a way of doing this either.

I don't believe it's possible...

only the on/off switch option is available on actions, no other command compatible...

Is it serial? You can write plugins to occur at certain actions.
