I just bought a UNeed H7 case, with this VFD. Since I will be running XP Pro there is no support for this VFD aside from displaying the date. It looks like LCD Smartie is the easiest to get to work with this display.
I have read the source code for IRClient to connect to the IRTrans server and it's pretty simple to code this in Delphi, so I will be doing that once the PC is built up. I'll make the object that talks to the VFD display in the same framework as LCD Smartie uses, so it should just drop in. I'm a Delphi developer by trade, so this should be no big trick.
However, I only have a licensed copy of D5, not D7, so I am unable to build LCD Smartie myself. I'd be happy to hand the source over to someone that can build it however.
It won't be tomorrow, but I should have something in a couple of weeks.
Any interest from the LCD Smartie development team?
UPDATE: I have LCDSmartie talking to my IRTrans driven display in my OrigenAE case. I'm going to try to get the current source (my code was linked into the 5.3 released source) and do a build to get this out there for those people running IRTrans displays under non-MCE machines.
Why leave something alone when you can risk making it better.
It's the bane of wives.
Nice work on the freq analyser. Unfortunately, the driver I found for the imon vfd I have only does text, but I know it is capable of more, as the default imon software does the freq analyzer. May be time to track down that code, if it is available. I rather miss not being able to do graphics in LCDSmartie. I've customized LCDSmartie enough now though, that it tromps on what is available with the default imon setup. No going back, only forward.
