Hi,
I recently purchased this display. It came with a parallel/molex cable so all the wiring was pre-done.
20x4 display
When I first switch my pc on, the display lights up and I get two rows of white squares (I think this is normal).
I installed the latest LCDSmartie software and the port95nt drivers but I can't get it to display anything. I have tried setting the 'Timing Multiplier' to 1 and 5 but no luck.
The BIOS parallel port settings are set to EPP 1.7.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to change any other settings in the Device Manager?
I have also tried CrystalControl software but all I get are garbled characters. Also tried LCDCenter with a bit more luck, I initially get some words and characters but then it gets garbled.
Any ides?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately the cables/wiring were already done by XSPC I guess. If I take it apart I might invalidate the warranty and not be able to return it.
I've had a chat with XSPC support and after trying it on two different PCs, it seems that the unit is faulty, so I will have to return it.

i had the same problem i had to change the port number.
Port: the address of your parallel port (usually 378, but 278 and 3BC are also common). think i had to use 3bc to get mine to work.
