If crystal and fuses set in PIC are not matched then Windows will report "Unknown device".
The most important thing for USB PIC projects is the Crystal/Oscillator and the fuses set in the PIC.
(as per ch242 project requirements)
Make sure you've used the same crystal and that the fuses are set like this:
