Possible to use Silverstone MFP51 with LCD Smartie?

Post by dt1000 »

Hi.
I've just purchased a Silverstone MFP51...
http://www.xyzcomputing.com/index.php?o ... ew&id=1043

It uses the iMon software to display various info.
I'm guessing it is exactly the same display as in the iMon Ultra Bay...

I'd quite like to use this with LCD Smartie but the iMon dll does not seem to work.

Is this possible? If so, how? If not, when? :)

Thanks,
Dan.

Any update on this? It would be great if the Smartie worked with this panel..
Thanks!

This might not be suitable for your display, but have a look at this driver that was developed recently. It sounds similar.

If your VFD is similar but not identical, you may be able to persuade the author to adapt it to suit...

I had a quick looks through the review articles in the links. I'd suggest you try the driver I mentioned anyway or get in touch with the author. It sounds like the same display, although it looks like the Smartie driver treats the centre dot-matrix section as a 2x16 character layout rather than graphics. It seems to have the same set of icons around the display. I could be talking rubbish of course, as I haven't used any iMON products...

The driver linked by Mattcro is for the 96x16 graphical LCD made by iMON and sold as or part of:

Antec Fusion Black HTPC case
Silverstone GD-MX01 HTPC Case
Silverstone MFP51
SoundGrap iMON UltraBay
an others...

LCDSmartie does not support graphic displays, so the driver has to emulate a 2x16 character display
