Hi folks,
on my motherboard i do have a parallel port. I nee more. So i bought a pci parallelport card with TWO more parallel ports. Now, my Computer have 3 LPT Ports. An old Parallelport Printer works really fine at the 3 ports. But Smartie not.
Smartie works only at the Port from the motherboard.
I use the newest Samrtie version right now (5.4) and make some different settings in the "Startup Parameters" like LPT2, LPT3 or the ressource adresses. But the Display won't work.
The mnufavtur is Expansys. I emailed with the support team and all what i get was taht this card dont work with AT Commandos. Can smartie only display text at the Displays with AT Commandos only? I dont know.
Thanks for your help!
Kind regards
Christian

There are several posts about getting PCI parallel port cards to work in Smartie, like this one: http://forums.lcdsmartie.org/viewtopic.php?t=1263
Mostly the problem is solved by specifying the correct address, which you can find in devices under control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager. Open the properties for the parallel port, and look at the addresses on the resources tab. Try putting one of those addresses in Smartie's port setup, as per the post I linked to above.
