USB to any LCD... (easy way)

Post by Rafael »

Hi...

I think that it?s the best way to build you own LCD with USB interfacing...

:D

This is the best way to save your money! Here in Brazil we can?t find some components that we discuss here, so...

Good idea (and economic enough).
Thanks Rafael. Have you tried it?

Hi Limbo...

I am waiting to it get my home... (Remember? Brazil, the last and worst country).

When I was testing some pic programs with JAY, I got a usb to serial converter and it works fine! I can?t see any problem with this... It?s very used in notebooks with no parallel port.

:D

I hope that it will work for you!
But I honestly doubt it... no USB>parallel has worked yet as ANY program that tries to directly control the data lines (such as the hd44780.dll output plugin in LCDSmartie) doesn't have any port to access :(

So baseline there isn't and it will never exist any adapter to bring a fully working LPT port on USB (just an emulation which is fine and enough for printing jobs)!

Still, I hope that it will work for you!
Good luck!
Caesar
