Font used
Is there any way to change the font used? I find it a little difficult to read.
The VFD software that came with my Antec fusion allowed me to select any font to use on the display.
Other than that, this works perfectly. Now if I can only get it to work with Beyond TV!

I can't get it to work
Using the modifed dll and the latest soundgraph vfd dll. LCDSmartie does not complain or mention any errors, but, the screen is perpetually indicating the time and not what I have on the LCDSmartie configuration.
I have a coolmaster cm-282 case with the imon oem lcd (not the ultra bay, no buttons)
No idea what to try next.
EDIT: Followed what etown said. Shut down the system after disabling the iMon FrontView (set to start Never).

Re: Font used
Ok, after a bucketload of research I managed to resolve pretty much all of my problems.
I'll reply to my issue with the font being a little hard to read in case someone else runs into the same problem. I discovered that the iMon_OEM_LCD driver supports 2X16 lines. This makes for much more readable text, and lets you have a lot more info on screen.
Also I was trying to get BTVSmartie to work, and kept getting Error #126. The solution for me was copying msvcr71.dll to the Windows/System32 directory. After literally a few weeks of research (here and there) I've got everything working perfectly!

I have some issues with this driver as well. I made this so far:
I installed my lcd with the newest iMON driver 7.40. Then I unzip LCD smartie to a local folder. Then, IF I go to front-view settings in iMON and set this to never, the lcd goes of and never turns on again. It HAS to be enabled through iMON to even light up.
When I enabled the lcd through imon I fire up LCD smartie and turn of iMON by exiting the program. Now LCD smartie works, sometimes.
What do I have to do here?
So, I have LCD smartie to work but only sometimes. At most times the stupid ugly time is shown on the display. In that case I have to start iMON to even get any response from the lcd.
I use the modified display-dll and the version of me sg_vdf.dll is 7.... something.
help here anyone!

I only got it running but only when;EvylRat wrote:After some initial success with the display, I'm now struggling again, can't get lcd smartie to work with it. Perhaps the kind chaps at MediaPortal will shed some light as to how they can get the imon working, it works fine in that prog. It can even control the icons.
1. iMON is started (black tray)
2. Frontview is in auto mode (RMB iMONtray --> Utillities --> Frontview
3. in iMon Manager --> iMON utillities --> Frontview
=> @General: Activate Front Display Always at startup
=> @General: Leave iMON back light on when iMON is shut down
=> @AutoMode: Deactivate everything.
Then the display is started but iMON manger dos not interfere the data that LCDsmartie sends.
I don't know, maybe you guys can find a solution for your prob's out of my posted experiece

I was trying drivers 004 with 6.2.0.829. Tried the MODIFIED drivers and I got my 2 lines of txt, but the scrolling is still very jerky. Still, way more useful than imon software. If I could now change the horrific font of that standby clock.evylrat wrote: Got my Imon LCD in my Silverstone GD01 case working using this thread, but the scrolling is horiffic. It's SOO slow, and then jumps around. What refresh rates are you guys using? I'm using the modified OEM drivers, and the SG_VFD.dll driver is 6.2.0.829

Hello,
I have a nox live case with imon remote and a vfd display. I have the same problem as many people here: lcdsmartie doesn't show anything in the display, the imon software is working fine.
I am using the modified plugin with the 0x1b call to the sg_vfd.dll. This plugin detects the hardware (with the 0x18 call it says that there is no hardware). In my registry the VFDlast property is set to the value 1A, then I modified the dll to change the 1B value to 1A in the corresponding offset but nothing changed: the display seemed to be recognized but nothing is displayed when I start lcdsmartie. I have tried a lot of things (reboot without starting imon manager, shuting it down when I start lcdsmartie... )
My sg_vfd.dll version is 7.2.6.606
imon manager reports: imon firmware ver 0x360201 VFD HID OEM
I run lcdsmartie on Windows XP SP2 with last updates and netframework 3 (net 2 is installed too).
Any suggestions?
Best regards,

Re: SoundGraph iMON OEM LCD Display Driver DLL
OK I have now managed to get it working using the above post, thanks for that.
One slight issue though, in order to get it to work with GBPVR I found a plugin that allows it to output the actions to a txt file, I then get LCD Smartie to display line 1 and 2 of the txt file on the display, this works great, however, after a period of time Soundgraph kicks in and puts the clock back on the display. Does anybody know if there is a way of stopping this from happening ? I would like to be able to keep the channel I am currently watching permanently displayed on the LCD. Is this possible ??
