I managed to build a wireless LCD that seems to be easier then the one on the dutch site. I actually managed to build a serial LCD backpack for avrs, but the source code is not good enough for release. I then hooked a 7.2v rechargable lithium to a low drop regulator and used that as the power (if only lcds ran off 3.3v ). I then grabbed a uart->bluetooth adapter from Sparkfun, put it near my laptop with bluetooth and fired up lcdsmartie. Voila! Wireless lcd! Unfortunately, the wireless lcd was not for me, and after a hdd crash I no longer have pics. If you have enough time + money + knowledge, you should build one too!
I have also built one using a receiver and transmitter modules from LINX. It was very easy, but like penjuin said not for me. I didnt really have a use for it. I did it one day more becuase I was bored and had the modules to do it.
I don't know if this is going to help anyone or not, but www.genovation.com makes a wireless MiniTerm (LCD + keypad). It's available as 900-W and 904-W (I think). They are not on the website anymore, so you'd have to call or email probably.
