Everything works but ...... getting ? instead of blocks

Hi,

Great sw, but I got everything working, but when I try bar, only ? is dispaly. I have try differnt version of lcdsmartie (including experimental stuff)) but they all display the same.

I am using PalmOrb and the display on custom char. do display the right char., but the display on Windows and PalmOrb only display ? for bar.

Any ideas?

Are you mean to say that you getting "?" char instead the block?
Can you try the "Block" function under the "Misc" Category?

Yep! $BAR give ? instead of block. How do you use the Block function ? It isn't doc. in the command ref.

Just go to misc and double click the Block(|) function it will add a block character to your line...

check if you getting block or "?" on your screen.

in addition use a Bar graph configuration in a screen without any other configuration.... just in case that some other configuration mess with your custom characters...

I must be doing something wrong. Double click on block do not insert a block char. I've try 5.3. and 5.3.2 with the same result .

Any better idea?

Just go to misc and double click the Block(|) function it will add a block character to your line...
check if you getting block or "?" on your screen.

Double click is supported from ver 5.3 and later

Alternative you can select the block and click the "insert" button on the bottom of the list.
after you "apply" the changes you have to see a block to your LCD...

in addition use a Bar graph configuration in a screen without any other configuration.... just in case that some other configuration mess with your custom characters...

Use a line with a bar graph e.g. $Bar($MemFree,$PageTotal,10) without any other line in a screen

No joy ! Both PalmORB and the Windows LCD show ? and no matter what I do on the Block function, it wouldn't insert a block or non is display on the LCD. Attached a screen shot for your ref.

Lets try something:

Please download this config.ini and replace yours (take a copy for backup first).

I have one more question for you...
Can you use the custom character function?
Or you getting the same"?" character instead the cuctom characters?

Try your ini, slightly better, but still car level is not display correctly and I can't display Cust. Char. Although one thing I notice, when using PalmOrb, and select Show Custom Chars, the little windows does display the right Custom Chars, but the display does ?!

This one should keeps you awake for a while !
