Boot time display?

Post by chameleon_789 »

I know this isn't completely relevant to LCDsmartie but I thought I'd ask anyway.. does anyone know of any tools I could use make a small program that runs while windows XP is booting (the scrolling blue bars on the black background). I have a bit of programming experience but I have no idea how this would be done, let alone ANY program that runs during boot. I never thought I'd miss the days of DOS :x

Did anyone accomplish this ? to be able to program a LCD to display something while the PC is booting?

I guess it's (almost) impossible. Or you would want to write your own BIOS (with LCD-support), a program thats able to work with less than the Windows kernel (that's what's being loaded while booting), and make it usefull for all versions of Windows. I say it's impossible. :(

Measuring the boot time is best done with a chronometer.
