Alright, I've had the aforementioned LCD display for over a year. I can't seem to find any documentation about it on the manufacturer's website, but here is a pretty good description from the site I purchased it at.

As you can see, it uses a Serial connnector. The USB is just for the unit's power. From reading various reviews around the web I have determined that it is using a Hitachi HD44780 processor. The screen is 2x20 in size. I've tried practically everything I can think of, but this display will not work with LCD Smartie. I've tried downloading the port95nt drivers, but quickly became lost. As you can tell, I'm not very astute when it comes to this sort of thing.
The main reason behind trying this out is because the software supplied by the manufacturer, VL Systems, sucks. Its Winamp plugin doesn't support any versions beyond 2.9x, so I'm stuck using that.
So, if you can help me setup my LCD for LCD Smartie or any other 3rd party app, I'd be most appreciative.
Thanks for your time.
EDIT: I have a little bit more information for you all. Here is verification that this model does use an HD44780 compatable LCD, from the manufacturer's old site. The image links are dead, but the information is there.
