Hello I have a LCD from here

- Based on the HD44780

It?s compatible with other programs of [Windows] lcd-controling, but with Smartie i cant make it run. This lcd comes with drivers, i have installed drivers previously. How i can view the COM of the usb port? I need this to instert this number in smartie. :wink:

Can anyone help me? :D

Do you mean that the LCD interface creates a virtual com port?

If so you have to select either the Matrix Orbital setting on the LCD Smartie settings or the Crystal Fontz setting.

The above display settings will enable the com port connection and you can select from all the available port of your system! :wink:

How I look this? Sorry I?m n00b at this :)

Check your system properties about the hardware device representing the LCD module.

What kind of interface is recognized by windows?

Does your LCD listed under the com ports?
like below:

If you follow the link to that website (www.usblcd.de), you'll see that they have just recently released a beta Windows driver. It is not a virtual COM port driver unfortunately. However, it does appear to be freely available (considering its main development has been under Linux), so writing support for it in Smartie shouldn't be a problem.

We'll get around to that soon. One more to add to the list...
