Its got a mind of its own - basic instructions needed pls!

Hey all,

It took me 2 weeks of pi55ing around with my LC10M & Imon before realising that there was no way I would get Imon to work properly with Media Center - don't ask me why not - it just wouldn't. So I followed the instructions for LCD Smartie and hey presto - the thing works!

Only problem is I can choose what I want on the LCD but after a minute or two it has its own ideas of what to show - news, CPU temp etc etc - and the bottom line says something like "this is where the..." - Whats that all about? - Its got a mind of its own

Can anyone give me a simple steb-by-step (simpletons) guide how to choose just to show some basic info (time etc) and have it display the same thing constantly when I start the machine up. Any further advice on setting up the Media Center plug-in would be wicked as well - but I'm not holding my breath!

Cheers in advance

Open the setup utility, and look at the "Screens Settings" area. Just to the left of the drop down menu showing the number of the screen shown, there is a check box that says "enabled" by it. Go through all 20 screens, and make sure that only the screens you want to show are enabled.

The preconfigured screens are a good base to start with, but you really need to just play around with all of the options to figure out what you want to show . You can also go to the Screens section of this forum to get more ideas. If you post specific questions about how to display something, it will be easier to help.

Thanks Jonny,

much appreciated!

I've found some other posts about the plug-in for MCE 2005 but they are all nearly a year old and not much help. Have you used this yourself? - or has anyone else reading this set up the plug-in for MCE 2005?

Cheers,
