Bluetooth!! the future...

Post by Rafael_Brazil »

Hi Team...

I?ve thinking about this..

I have a bt adaptor in my PC, to communicate with my cell phone... to get phonebook, pictures and anithing else!!!

So, for this, I use the fma.sourceforge.net to manage the cell phone!

This software create a virtual serial port! here I have COM1, COM19 and COM20!!

When I setup the lcdsmartie, these serial options appeas to select... But when I select it, smartie stop to work and I need to finalize...

Imagine, a bluetooth receiver... to connect your LCD... it?s a dream...

Yeah, bluetooth is a little pricey. Plus, there aren't any current bluetooth devices that would be worth supporting. If we were to make our own devices, I would shy away from BlueTooth. Sure, it's the "new thing", but it's also expensive and a serious pain to program. Kinda like USB. If it wasn't for FTDI's RS232-to-USB converter ICs, USB would be completely unavailable to most hobbyists. I've looked into it, and believe me, it's ugly...

I's say stick to this LINX RF modules you found. Those definitely offer the simplicity that you are looking for in a project like this.
