Can't get pc card LPT port to work with LCD smartie. Address is set correctly. Any Ideas?

Hi,
Can you be more specific pls. What's the part number of the card? Most 'printer port' usb interfaces don't work and I suspect it may be true of pcmcia LPT ports too. They do not implement a full parallel interface, just enough to drive a printer.

The Quatech SPP-100 parallel port PCMCIA card works. Startech CB1PECP will NOT work.
