Pertelian x2040 Problem

Well, I seem to have a small issue, I purchased this pertelian when it first was released. Well I put it up for awhile and decided to break it out now that I got a computer again and it turns out that Pertelian(dot)com is no longer in existance >.< Well I am trying to use LCD Smartie and I cannot get the correct settings or something,

I try to use the pertelian.dll display dll but when I try it shows me "Failed to open device: DLL Initialize error: PERTELIAN.DLL Exception: The handle is invalid". So I try using the HD44780 dll and I cannot get the display to work what so ever. Even put an add up on craiglist and other sites to buy a copy of the drivers from the original disk but it is a fail. If anyone can help me out I would be MORE than happy.
