Running HD44780 display on i/o card

Post by cyberv »

I want an interntal connection for my HD44780 display so i bought a i/o card with internal header on the PCB.

On my test machine i got LCD smartie working fine with the i/o card once I changed the Interupt setting of the card from "never use interupt" to "try to use interupt". (I've transladet this from my Swedish XP). Once i changed to this and entered the correct address (they where 3 of them) the display worked perfect with Smartie.

When i moved the i/o card from my test PC to the HTPC it didnt work anymore...

I've tried all 3 settings for the i/o card "never use interupt", "try to use interupt" and "Use all interupts given to the port"

I've tried both 8 bit addresses and even the 32 bit one (is it for the com-ports?)

These are the settings in LCD smartie, i've tried B800 and B400 for address. I even tried BC00 which is a 32 bit range of addresses

Since the display did work in the test machine it shouldnt be a hardware problem. It must be software.. But what kind of software problem? :(
