Multiple LCD's using LCD Smartie with different config

Post by Melancholy »

Hello,
I have a HD44780 LCD (normal 2x16 LCD connected to Printer Port) and my Palm connected to the COM1-Port (as Matrix Orbital device with the PalmOrb plug-in). But I can't use them together. I tried to run the program twice but it does nothing. Is there a way to make them work seperately?

Thanks,
Melancholy

Yes :D :D
You can use the "-config xxxxxx.ini" parameter to the shortcut under the target line.
I use it to run up to 5 instances of LCD Smartie with different configuration.
With this command the program will run from the same location using different config.ini file

Here is an example of my shortcuts
"D:\!Progs\LCD SMARTIE\LCDSmartie.exe" -config configm.ini

Sorry, as being a n00b at software, can you explane me what to do?

I added "-config.ini", so the target becomes "C:\Program Files\LCD Smartie 5.3\LCDSmartie.exe" -hide -config.ini . I adjusted the target on the shortcut that is in Startmenu => Programs => Startup
Will this work? config.ini is my config in my main LCD Smartie 5.3 directory.
Or do I need to make 2 configs?

Thank you very much,
Melancholy.

You have to add an extra ini file inside the main program's directory.
After that you have to make a new shortcut with -config parameter.
:D
For instance
"C:\Program Files\LCD Smartie 5.3\LCDSmartie.exe" -config.ini configm.ini -hide

:smt101

In the picture below you can find a screenshoot of A Smartie directory with an extra ini file named configm.ini
