Hi long time no seen...

Running HD44780 on usb with Sunsway USB Parallel Port Adapter?
is this possible?
i dont know what to set up ldcsmartie to do this..
but it has to be possible, right ?
the display is a HD44780 4x20 lines..
PLEASE help.. im going mad ...
the os im using if that matters is windows 7 64 bit...

edit: i have read that you cant use a usb to serial conector? why is this ?
it should be possible to send info from usb via this connector.. somehow.. maybe with som modifications?

It doesn't work as driving a parallel LCD needs specific timings that usb-parallel adapters can't provide.

Only if the adapter has a FTDI chip you could use it in bit-bang mode, more info is here on the forums.
