port fix brakes my network

i have just got my new lcd screen 20x4 serial and i was told to install the port fix to make it work after setting it all up my network did not work now i have reinstalled windows and made a backup when i install the port fix my network stops working and i have no idea wot to do please help my motherbord is a dfi lanparty 250 gb

What's the "PORT FIX"?

If you are using serial interfaced LCD you ahve to choose from one of the available settings (matrix orbital or crystalfontz).
Or if your LCD is not supported you have to try our test driver.

In any case I don't believe that lcd smartie has mothing to do with your network configuration.

hi there sorry the program is (You will need to install port95nt software, this software provides access to your parallel port) i will try it again and see if it stops my net working tonight
the past 2 times i installed port95nt all the lights start flashing on my router and i can see my router but i can open anything i allso tried connecting direct and i get the same problem if i system restore it all works
edit when lcd smartie is installed with port95nt it works sweet vv imprest .
i got the lcd from www.componentsuk

If you got a "serial" LCD you don't need to install port95nt!
But if are using parallel connection you have to install it

Which is exactly your LCD model?
Please provide some info about the OS you are using...
Also check the version of LCD Smartie ( to be the lastest one)
Your "router" is a DSL router? (are you usning USB or LAN connection)
