4X20 PicoLCD request

Post by apineda »

Hi,

Any plans to support the USB-LCD-4X20 picoLCD at: www.mini-cox.com?

P.S. I have one and would be willing to test.

There is a plugin already available here: http://forums.lcdsmartie.org/viewtopic.php?t=1708

It's a big forum but "Search" is a good and trusty friend

PS: Gizmo, even if it's funny, please keep it decent! It's a tech forum, not a poultry farm...

Thanks, I tried that display driver but I could not get it to work. It did not give me any errors, it just didn't connect with the device. It may not be the driver though, let me debug some more.

I appreciate the quick response and will post my findings.

Regards,

Andy

You mean that the lcd is not recognized by vista 64? Then we cannot help you with that. Try the manufacturer's website.

the only solution i see is for you to use either win xp or linux.

i really don't see them having a signed driver for vista...

At http://www.picolcd.com/drivers/

They have a 32 bit driver for vista and a 32bit driver for windows xp.

They real interesting thing is they included a test program that includes the Source Codes

I tried this test program on my Windows 7 64bit and the program works fines, im able to get it to display text and interact with the lcd but thats about it.

Since they included the source code would it be possible to somehow make lcd smartie drivers out of them

Looked at it, still nauseated by the code.

All I can say right now is that it would be much easier to have the codes that the client sends to pico deamon and use them

Are the codes available? Then I could easily change the already existing pico driver to incorporate the new codes.
Have you tried it to see if it works somewhat?
