Hello.
I'm using Pertelian X2040 on Vista32, with smartie 5.4.1 using HD44780S.dll.
Everything works great, except that exiting smartie and restarting it results in "Failed to open device: DLL Initialize error: HD44780S.DLL exception: the handle is invalid".
Can't restart smartie until restarting the computer.
Searched the forums for answer, but haven't found anything.
Thanks in advance
Shlomi

I have looked into the source and HD44780 Serial Display DLL should be working great.
Can you please look in Smartie above the "Startup parameters" box, there should be a field containing the dll version, something like:
HD44780 Serial Display DLL v0.1
and report back the shown version.
Other than that, is any program trying to access the displays COM port?

well, my mistake.
it appears that if i run smartie while everest is running, i'm getting an error.
if i'm closing everest, running smartie, then everest again - everything works fine.
it seems everest is preventing smartie from closing the COM port.
i'm using everest 4.60.1500 ultimate, with smartie 5.4.1 and everest plugin by limbo.
any ideas ?
thanks
