Hi,
I buy usb to lpt cable for connect hd44780 to laptop.
I try hd44780 whit PC (real LPT) - works fine.
But when i connect to usb -> lpt cable, i dont know what HD44780.dll "Startup parameters" write... I try LPT1, LPT2, USB0, USB001, USB002 but nothing happened (screen is in "stand by"" - first line of simbols light) ;/
Can someone help me?

Fisrt of all I have to warn you that most USB to parallel connectors are supply only virtual printer support!
You have to check under your system properties (device manager) if you have any new device listed there. if the device is LPT port you may use the LPT address in order to connect and configure LCD Smartie.
Otherwise you have to check the hardware section there is a solution using FTDi chips which is the best way to connect an LCD to USB port
