Noritake CU20026SCPC-T30A (NEC FIPC8367 controller)

Hi everyone!

I just bought a NEC FC20x2-JA-AB VFD, compatible with the Noritake CU20026SCPC-T30A which as a NEC FIPC8367 controller.

I've only managed to get a condensed datasheet for this VFD and I'm having some problems connecting it to my PC.

I've seen in the forum that some of you have already managed to use similar displays with LCD smartie so maybe you can help me out. I'm a newbie on this area so I apologize if my questions are too stupid...

1) On the datasheet that i got it says that it as a parallel/serial interface. I'm assuming that this means that I can connect it either to a parallel or serial port. Can anyone point me out the wiring that I should do for both situations?

2)There is a request for a driver for the NEC FIPC8367 with a high priority. Is there any intention of releasing one shortly?

3)If i use the test driver I must connect the display to a serial port?

4) Is there any documentation on how to develop a new driver for LCDSmartie?
