information on hd44780 panel needed
I have a 4x40 lcd pannel it has 2 x hd44780 and 8x hd44100 the part number is 1355R2 its from a frick screw compressor. The pin headder has 26 pins. could anyone help me with a pinout. I have tried frick in the USA to no avail. The pannel is 250 x 60mm nice big pannel. Keen to get this to fly any help will be most appreciated.

I haven't come across a 26-pin LCD header before, but there are many custom LCD panels that hobbyists aren't likely to encounter...
I'd guess there is a common set of control/data lines, plus two enable signals for the 2 HD44780 controllers (they each do half of the display), and perhaps there are multiple power and ground pins.
If you can't get any manufacturer info, you may be stuck with tracing the PCB tracks into the controller chips. Post any numbers/markings on the board (and search google etc for them too!), and take some clear pics if you can and post here.
