Email plugin

I like the email checking facility, will be very handy for me as I don't want to sit at the pc waiting for emails.
I'm trying to rig up my mobile phone to my PC using MyPhoneExplorer (Sony phone). Using command line, I can text myself, wireless, via bluetooth. So if my phone is within range, I can execute a command which will ask m y phone to text myself.

So, here's what I'm after... Can details of the emails be extracted? For example, when an email comes in, I can pass simple fields to the command line (FROM, SUBJECT, TOTAL NO OF NEW EMAILS)?

Is it possible to pass the email FROM, SUBJECT and first x chars to the command line?
