I plan to use LCD Smartie to show system status info on a set of old analog gauges. I'm making custom hardware -- a PIC18F2550 running a USB/CDC firmware (virtual serial port), with a software PWM to control the gauges.
I'll probably write my firmware to work best with a simple 'test driver' setup. It will be easiest to send simple ASCII strings and program the 'return to beginning' sequence to be the new line character -- or full newline sequence if possible, 0eh 0dh. The design files will be available for download when its completed.
Great application!
