i'm new here, and I've already a problem I've found a functional LCD display from a broken gps, the display is an LTG500QV-F03.
Then problem is that i don't know how can i use this beautiful lcd as a information display for my PC (i want see some info like processor usage, memory, net and other info).
Anyone can give me some information? i've search trough google but nothing useful found to use it.
It looks like a colour graphic TFT, which sounds about right for a GPS/satnav unit. I have to agree - something like this would be really cool for a status/info display in a PC.
Unfortunately, graphic LCDs are not supported natively in Smartie. There are just too many variations and sizes for the developers to write drivers, and they are not so easy to interface to the PC as ordinary alphanumeric LCDs.
Unless you can find a datasheet about programming the display and make an interface (electronics and microcontroller programming!), you can't use the display with Smartie, and maybe not with any other similar software either...
EDIT: that page says the display is analog - if that means analog video signal input (ie composite video), you may be able to use the display as a mini video monitor or screen for DVD player etc...
Thank you very much for you reply, the page contain the only info that I've already found on web
I've read the info about analog function of this display but i can't find any info about a way to use it ! the monitor have a flat cable but no info about single line on cable... i cannot understand how can i connect to video source like a dvd player or a tv tuner... no data sheet seems exists.. so i will continue my search
