The request should probably be send to MS. The WMP Blogging Plug-in does not work with ver 11

I also require a plugin that works with Vista WMP11, is there anybody onto this yet? Can anyone give me some idea of how long it will be before a working plug-in is available?
Will it work with CD's/DVD's or just stored files?

Thanks guys

Check to see if you play a file in Media Player if you get a key in the registry under the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\CurrentMetaData\

And see if the track info is listed there.

I will happily build a plugin that reads this info into LCD Smartie.

OK, here is a new plugin for you guys. Reads the WMP Blogging Plugin info out of the registry.

Link to the plugin for WMP (says for 9, but I tested it with XP Home and WMP11 and it works fine):

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/down ... reate.mspx

(Download link is on the right side of the screen 3rd one down)

DLL functions:

Function 1: first param = which value second param = ignored

value
0 = Author
1 = Album
2 = Duration
3 = Name
4 = Title

Function 2: both params ignored

wmp active (1) or not active (0) used for actions screen to skip
wmp screen in LCD Smartie setup

Example Setup:

Result using WMP11 playing an MP3 sitting on my machine....

Download link for the DLL:

Im running Vista Home Premium 32bit
The CurrentMetaData registry entry mentioned above does not exist in regedit.
WMP Blog plugin does not work under wmp11 on vista.
My WMP11 on vista has uICE WMP installed. This was installed with a Now Playing sidebar gadget. This is described as a way of controlling WMP from external programs, webpages or scripts so we could have a control interface for MO buttons with a skilled plugin maker. Find it here http://www.mediatexx.com/
There is one plugin that releases Metadata that i have installed. That is Windows Live Messinger plugin. This "Changes your personal message in Windows Live Messenger to show the currently playing song."
Also i have found a Vista sidebar gadget that finds song names called NOW Playing by Law James. His Blog here http://gadgetdev.blogspot.com/
Hopefully someone finds this usefull and can make a good WMP plugin for LCD Smartie for Vista! My total inability to make the plugin can't stop me from being optimistic!
