A rack mount, 3 x LCD Display Unit based on HD44780 LCDs

Hi

Just wanna share my experience building a rack-mount 3 LCD panel for monitoring a few computers...

I also used a data/parallel switch to switch between computers but once I do a switch, the LCD will be deactivated. I must exit and run LCDSmartie again for that particular computer to make the LCD work again. Is there a solution to this?

The problem is how to trigger the smartie to re-load the driver.
Maybe with an external program that reads the pin status on parallel port there are few free pins for this, But I don't have in mind a program for this (probably you need a custom application for it)
