I was happily using a version <5.4 for quite a while until the nag screens were annoying my HTPC software on boot. So, I decided to upgrade.
After doing so, my Crystal Fontz 4x20 LCD is displaying the wrong characters. The monitor version of the LCD is displaying the correct characters, but the LCD itself is not.
For example:
All normal characters such as numbers, % $ letters are perfectly fine.
The Pipe character | is being displayed as ? or ?
The Underscore char _ is being displayed as that squiggly S character.
This is particularly evident with the $bar() function, since it used to display blank spaces as _ underscores. now the entire bar is full of squiggly S's when the CPU is at 0% for example.
My guess is that it is using the incorrect character set somehow but I cannot seem to correct it. the crystal.dll has a third parameter as some CVAR but the onscreen description is EXTREMELY vague.
Can someone help? Everything was working perfect in the previous version so I know the LCD supports these characters.
