problems with 1x16 character display

Hello , First of all my english is not very good. So please keep that in mind
I have connected my lcd using the wiring that is in your faq the number 3
the lcd is an 1x16 character display 1601-G
this is what i can vind of the display

I dont now what i am doing wrong .The wiring is correct and i have followt al the steps that are in your faq.
so can you help me ?

Do you see any character?

Try LCD Smartie ver 5.3
Use "Alternate Settings for 1x16"

the problem o i forgot

i dont see a thing and i am using 5.3 and alternative adressing i tried the multieplyer also and in my bios its configured at ecp and epp i can switch them semperatly

Have you tried to use the pot? Maybe the contrast is too low.
