LCD display won't work with PCI Parallell port.

Post by fUzZy^ »

Hi, i bought a LCD display a week ago.

I tested it on my mom's PC which have a parallell port, and it worked perfect.

My new computer don't have a parallellport so i bougt an PCI IO Controller Card, and installed the driver. Installed the port95nt software and LCD Smartie, but it wont work?

All wiring is correct.

The LCD display:

The PCI IO controller card:

What is wrong? The display is only showing white squares

I'm on a 64bit CPU, does that got something to do with the problem?

i have the same LCD as fUzZy; and i installed the NetMos 9835 PCI Multi-I/O Controller as my mobo don't have a parallel port, too...
i've smartie 5.32 running, but nothing happen... then i changed the HD44780 settings...

Port: B800 <-- what i've got from windows xp following this post http://forums.lcdsmartie.org/viewtopic.php?t=54
Driver boot delay: 1
Timing multplier: 1
Fix 16x1 line: not check
Use KS0073: not check

then now i have a blinking LCD, only backlight is blinking, not showing anything.
anyone here knows how to fix this? when i plug my LCD to another PC with a parallel on mobo, it works fine, so i know the LCD is good.
