Recovery after sleep

Post by dramsey »

I'm using Smarties with a Crystalfontz 635 display running off the internal USB port on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe.

Works great, except after putting the system to sleep and waking it up, the display reverts to the built-in Crystalfontz "ad", and Smartie doesn't seem to be able to control the display any more. Quitting and restarting Smartie has no effect; I must reboot the system to regain control of the display.

Any ideas?

Have you checked your device manager (after the system wake-up) for any devices (related to LCD) with exclamation marks?

I have now, and both the USB device and serial port device are present and enabled.

While I was playing around with this I noticed that if I sleep the computer and wake it up immediately, the display still works; but if I leave it asleep longer, it doesn't work.

I'm going to try the OEM software and see if that handles sleep.

Interesting.

About 25% of the time, the display works when the system wakes from sleep.

The other 75%, it stays "stuck" on the built-in Crystalfonts logo, but I can "unfreeze" it by using the Crystalfontz test program, after which Smartie works.
