I recently had frontview installed and tried to install MCIS. I uninstalled frontview, rebooted, installed MCIS 2.7 including the registry patch from the MCIS site and rebooted again. In the process of troubleshooting I have gone through 2 additional "repair" / reboot cycles for MCIS. When I open the MCIS service controller, I see that service, gatherer and responder all have green lights, but MCE and MCE trigger both have yellow, including when MCE is running and media is playing. I did not get any errors during installing.
People on the forum have also referred to a system tray icon for MCIS, and for what it's worth I do not have one.
When I go to http://hostname:8421/mci/all I see a list of tags, but none of the tags have info, including when i'm playing media and i'd expect some of them to have values like trackname or others.
For what it's worth, when I go to http://localhost:8057/, I see this:
.NET?System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Tcp channel protocol violation: expecting preamble. at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpSocketHandler.ReadVersionAndOperation(UInt16& operation) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpServerSocketHandler.ReadHeaders() at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpServerTransportSink.ServiceRequest(Object state) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.ProcessRequestNow()
Any help would be appreciated.
