Big Hitachi LCD 40x16 HD61203 / HD61200

Post by Cekala »

Hello!

I've got something like this: The Enhanced Operator Panel from an ATM-Machine.
Big LCD 40x16 with 8 chips: 2xHD61203 and 6xHD61200 (figure 2).
The LCD is connected to the back-panel via 10-pin connector (figure 1) to
HD61830A00 chip (figure 3). There is a potentiometer (figure 4) for contrast adjusting.

What do you think about it? How to use it with PC (LCDSmartie)? I think
that on the back-panel there is a serial connector.

And there is no back-light!

Ha! That's strange! I'm working with ATMs and I operate this panel every
day and it displays typical alphanumeric characters. The same font as
on smaller alphanumeric LCDs. I counted characters and for sure there
is always 40 columns and 16 rows.

Or maybe it is graphical LCD and PC software displays characters instead
of some graphics (hope you know what I mean).
