what screen is this?

Post by digital_loop »

I have recently taken apart an old nomad jukebox I had laying around that isn't being used anymore so that I could get the lcd out. I want to use this to display stats for my pc. Can anyone please tell me what screen this is and what I need to get it to work on my pc? Thank you very much in advance.

Also, do I need to get some sort of controllers or chips or something? I really want to get this baby hooked up

It doesnt look like there are any controller chips on it. You would have to get some and hook them up which is alot of work, too much work. That is a graphical LCD and it wouldnt work with smartie anyway. Smartie only supports character LCD's (HD44780). If you really want to mess around with graphical LCDs your better off buying them with a controller already on them. I have used a graphical LCD with a KS0108 controller before and it was rather simple to get it working with a microcontroller. There are some PC programs out there that will work with graphical LCDs.
