LCD wont post up?

Hi guyz im new here

i have a 20 x 4 LCD with HD44780 chip and i think i wired up everything correctly, because only the first and the third line appeared. I installed port95nt for the parallel port and then install LCD smartie

but the LCD wouldn't post up =/ ! i tried several softwares, still wouldn't post up

!!

can someone please help me here?

PS: what port should i set it into? i put it on default which is 378

The default port its OK in most system. You sould pay an attention to wiring...

and the the parallel port setting on your bios (I' don't really think that will help in this case. But give it a try)

i tried those ways !

hiks.. i think i broke my LCD.. actually it's my fault.. probably i did too much soldering and unsoldering

and the PCB might be broken

Use peroxide of hydrogen to clear the LCD backplate and check it for scratches and for any short circuit.

The two working lines are a very good indication

yeah, it's broken for sure, i got someone that really understands about soldering and stuff, and he said im screwed lol ! oh well.. just gotta buy another one xD
