Re: LIS 2 Premium - First character missing

I did some development work on these DLLs a while ago (wow, like 5 years now) and had them hosted on my home server. Configurations have changed, etc. so I've moved them to my hosted server. http://www.fast351.com/webstuff/LCDSmartie/ Note that I don't know the pedigree of any of the stuff there. I ...

Writing a display DLL, what the functions do.

You can get the Delphi framework from the CVS source repository by just looking at any of the multiple display driver sources there. Enrico74 posted the VC++ version of the framework here: http://forums.lcdsmartie.org/viewtopic.php?t=1415 Your display DLL may implement as few or as many functions as...

This was a first sketch to get feedback. The current version is getting much better, with a support for custom chars and customizable serial settings. I will also have it renamed to VL-SYSTEM MPLAY BLAST plugin because this is the correct name for the VFD the Zalman HD135 case is equipped with. Onc...

Looked at the source, cool to see a VC++ display plugin.

Nothing to test it on here, but you should not have COM3 hardcoded. Pass it in as a parameter.

4/8 is the brightness control.

I'm surprised it does nothing. You see absolutely 0 on the screen with the driver? I have an MCE edition I used for doing the development work on this driver and it works perfectly.

You try changing between 4 bit and 8 bit mode on the LIS VFD driver?
\
To clarify, you should be using the v1.1 driver, and try the different brightness modes.

You need 5.4.1. There was an error in 5.4 with restarting drivers.

Try this:

Image

RS goes to 16, E goes to 1, data bits as shown.

Ground = shield for all intents and purposes, so ground that.

Fire up Media Player and play something Then use the registry editor to browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\CurrentMetadata and see if there's anything there in the information. If the title, etc show up there, then the WMP plugin is doing it's thing, and it's possible that th...

To answer your initial post, there is no way to intercept data going to a COM port (without writing a virtual COM port driver, and that's way beyond the charter of this program). Similarly waiting for the port to be available is a non-starter since it wouldn't release when the POS system needed it a...
